Joshua Kurzweil
Josh began his teaching career in 1990. He has taught and trained in Japan, Spain, the Republic of Georgia, and the United States. He received his Master's degree in teaching from the SIT Graduate Institute and also holds the Cambridge CELTA and DELTA. Josh has been involved in developing the curriculum for the SIT TESOL Certificate and is a trainer of trainers. In addition to working on the SIT course, Josh has been a trainer with the Peace Corps and does educational consulting through the company, Berkeley Learning Teaching Consultants, which he co-founded. He is the author of Understanding Teaching Through Learning, which was published by McGraw-Hill in 2006, and his particular areas of interest include Experiential Learning, reflective practice, and lesson design. Josh lives with his wife and son in Berkeley, California.
Jennifer Gemma
Jenn earned her Master’s Degree in TESOL from St. Mary´s College of California. She has been teaching (Spanish and EFL/ESL) since 1999 and training since 2004. Jenn is a trainer and trainer of trainers for the SIT TESOL Certificate Course. She has taught in Spain and Korea and is currently teaching and training in the Bay Area. She loves photography, cooking, yoga and snow-skiing.
Jeff Puccini
Jeff received his BA from University of Wisconsin-Madison in English Literature. From SIT Graduate Institute, he received his TESOL Certificate and Master of Arts in TESOL. He has taught English in Venezuela, South Korea, and currently in the US. In addition, he is a licensed SIT TESOL trainer and trainer of trainers. He has done teacher training in Korea, Chicago, and Berkeley. In 2012, he was the English Language Fellow in El Salvador. Current interests in the classroom include the lexical approach and the role of reflection in learning. When not teaching or training, he enjoys hiking, biking, and camping. He lives with his wife and two feral cats in Oakland.
Linda-Marie Koza
Linda-Marie has taught and trained in Korea, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and various cities in the United States. She received an MA-TESOL from the University of San Francisco, an MBA from U.C. Berkeley, and is a licensed SIT TESOL trainer and trainer-of-trainers. Linda-Marie is co-author of Inside Listening and Speaking IV, published in 2015 by Oxford University Press, and was a contributing writer to the Touchstone 2nd Edition series, published by Cambridge University Press in 2013. Her interests include corpus-linguistics, the lexical approach, and reflective practice. She coordinates a Reflective Practice Group for ESL teachers in the SF Bay Area. In her free time, Linda-Marie loves walking, cooking, theater, and sharing these things with family and friends.
James Wu
James has a Master’s degree in TESOL from SIT Graduate Institute and is a licensed SIT TESOL trainer. He has taught English to students of all ages in Japan, Costa Rica, Switzerland, and the US. In South Korea, James co-developed a curriculum on Teaching English in English for the Uniting Cultures and Communication Center. Not only is James a believer in experiential learning and reflective practice, he also takes a deep interest in Gamifying (designing fun learning experiences) with technology. He is constantly exploring and experimenting with new ways to integrate technology both inside and outside the classroom. In his spare time, James enjoys watching movies, playing games, and biking.
