LiUNA Training
LIUNA is one of the largest labor unions in North America and has over 70 training centers in the U.S. and Canada, where they offer courses in various courses related to construction (Ex. Hazardous waste materials, Lead abatement, etc). We have done work with them on instructional design, monitoring, and feedback. In June 2011, we completed a project in which we did a performance-based assessment of over 220 instructors. We designed the rubrics to assess planning, teaching, and reflection skills so that instructors could be placed into appropriate classes for professional development. We have since developed a series of both online and face-to-face courses for instructors to develop their teaching skills and move toward certification.
